Who We Help

We support the success and the requirements of our grantee organizations and share a personal stake in their causes – we share the same heart: basic needs. Basic needs include food, shelter, and physical and mental health care. Through the generosity of our donors, we are able to offer grants to area charities that provide basic needs support throughout Western Cuyahoga County and Lorain County. These organizations offer everything from food, to housing for unhoused men, women and families, to medical care for the terminally ill and underinsured — the most poverty-stricken among us.

Community West Foundation is dedicated to supporting organizations that provide the basic needs programs and services in Cleveland, Western Cuyahoga and Lorain Counties. We are known for our commitment to dignity and our dedication to the success of the nonprofits we support. Our experts, donors and nonprofit partners begin aligned. This unique union effectively turns dollars into dignity.

Because of our history, we are deeply rooted with Cleveland Clinic Fairview and Lutheran Hospitals. Our partnership includes managing funds, campaigns and events to support programs and services they provide to both employees and patients.

We also work with agencies and individuals to provide a variety of philanthropic support services to help them fulfill their missions and charitable interests. Whether it is housing an agency’s endowment or a family’s donor advised fund, Community West is their trusted partner throughout the process.
