2022 Event Highlights

In its 29th year, Triumph for the Cure brought together supporters of the Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital Breast Health Center to fundraise for those facing breast cancer. This was the second year the tournament was held at Top Golf in Independence and the attendance doubled over last year with just under 200 people.

Guests enjoyed a night of golfing along with food, raffles and blinky ‘birdie’ pins which were a big hit among attendees. The summer weather made the evening enjoyable for all.   This year’s event raised over $20,000!   Proceeds support patients who are struggling financially during their treatment whether it be receiving help with a bill, or paying for prescriptions, these funds help alleviate that burden.

Thank you to the tournament’s signature sponsor, RPM International Inc. Their commitment to this golf event has made a huge impact over the years and their dedication is very much appreciated. Other sponsors included: Merit Medical, Fairview Hospital Medical Staff, Community West Foundation, Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital, Shurtape Technologies, Rockwell Metals Company Inc., Foote Printing, Med Consults Inc., Blossom Hill, Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute Department of Radiation Oncology, Fairview Hospital Radiology, Ambry Genetics, Myriad Genetics, ImpediMed and Avon Hospital. Individuals that sponsored a team include: Laura Uhle, Dr. Andrew Vassil, Kathleen Bell, Kim Davidson, Megan Edwards, Erika Sullivan and Dr. John Suh.

During the event, Breast Surgeon and Medical Director of the Fairview Breast Program, Dr. Stephanie Valente, thanked attendees for their participation.  Other speakers included Dr. Brad Champagne, Chief Medical officer of Fairview Hospital, Director of DDSI West Region Surgery and Colorectal Surgeon and Dr. Neil Smith, President of Fairview Hospital and family practice physician.  The team from Blossom Hill was this year’s tournament champions for the second year in a row!
