CWF Spotlight: Refugee Response
Helping Our Newest Members Feel Welcome
The needs of our refugee neighbors are great and we can all do our part to love our neighbors – near and far. We know that The Refugee Response has responded to God’s call to embrace Matthew 25:40, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”
We have a great appreciation for the work of the Refugee Response, an organization that eagerly welcomes and helps resettled families in their next phase of adjusting to their new home. True to their mission of empowering families to grow roots and supporting them in becoming engaged, self-sufficient, and contributing members of their new communities, they are leaders in serving resettled families. Services to assist clients are provided in many programs areas, including The Home Mentoring Program, the Ohio City Farm Program, and the Adult Home Tutoring Program. Community West provided $50,000 to help in all of these priority program areas.
Patrick Kearns, Executive Director at The Refugee Response, continues to form many strategic alliances, including one with the Cleveland Metropolitan School District to help the Refugee youth. His thoughtful leadership is the agency’s greatest strength and the reason for its success.
Our community is blessed by the work of our wonderful partners at The Refugee Response that is so committed to making Cleveland a place of welcome for our refugees.
