Our Team

Sean Arras is one of two Grantmakers at Community West Foundation, where he co-leads the Foundation’s $3.2 million annual grantmaking portfolio supporting essential human services. Day to day, he manages grantee relationships and initiatives, engages with community leaders to understand an evolving nonprofit landscape, and actively participates in the region’s dynamic philanthropic ecosystem.

Prior to joining Community West in 2024, he spent seven years in grantmaking and nonprofit operations and development with the Mount Carmel Foundation in Columbus and Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, advancing support for medical research, food equity, mental health programming, and community outreach initiatives.

Sean earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from The Ohio State University, where he focused on American politics and the ways decision-making structures can serve as barriers or bridges to more equitable and livable communities.

Outside of office hours, Sean is an avid runner, reader, and coffee-shop regular. His ideal morning starts with a long run in one of Cleveland’s beautiful Metroparks and ends with a well-earned latte and pastry.

Tim Bond is the Database Manager for Community West Foundation, having been with the Foundation for 20 years.

His nonprofit and public service background in IT and telephony includes previous employment with the City of Cleveland – Dept. of Port Control at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport and Case Western Reserve University.

Tim manages Community West Foundation’s constituent database, which includes donors, board members, nonprofit organizations, Cleveland Clinic relationships, etc., and he also manages their phone system.

Tim earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, with minors in Mathematics and Psychology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.

In his free time, Tim enjoys spending time with family and friends dining/cooking out, watching movies & documentaries, visiting and walking in Cleveland Metroparks, listening to music, and occasionally strumming a few chords on his guitar.

Maria Estes is the Vice President of Marketing and Communications at Community West Foundation, where she leads brand strategy, foundation communications, and all marketing initiatives. She recently celebrated her six year anniversary with the Foundation.

With more than two decades of experience in nonprofit fundraising and hospital marketing, Maria brings a wealth of expertise and a deep commitment to advancing organizational missions. Known for her adaptability and collaborative leadership, she thrives in dynamic environments that call for strategic thinking and creative solutions.

Maria holds a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Youngstown State University and is a proud alumni of Cleveland Leadership Center’s Bridge Builders program.

She and her husband, Keith, live in Fairview Park with their two sons. Outside of work, Maria enjoys cooking and volunteering at her children’s school.

Allison Kerns is an Accountant at Community West Foundation. One of the more recent hires, she brings more than four years of experience in for-profit accounting, having previously worked as a staff accountant at Northwestern Mutual.

At Community West Foundation, Allison oversees foundation payables, processes donor-advised grant requests, and assists the rest of the finance team with month-end closing procedures. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Financial Management from Hiram College.

Outside of work, Allison spends her time tending her cactus collection, crocheting, painting miniatures, dancing to music, and playing video games/tabletop roleplaying games with her friends and family. A recent first-time homebuyer, she plans to add a cat and dog to her small household soon.

Daniel Roth is the Vice President and CFO of Community West Foundation and oversees operating and financial management including accounting for the organization’s more than $180 million in assets, budgeting, tax, audit, regulatory compliance, human resources, information technology, and facilities functions for the organization.

Dan joined the Foundation in 2008, as an accountant, and was promoted to Chief Financial Officer in 2013, and Vice President and CFO in 2021. As a member of the Foundation’s leadership team, Dan contributes to the Finance, Investment and Audit Committees, and presents financial and investment updates to the Board of Directors. His expertise and skills help advance the Foundation’s vision and mission and have added to the overall success of the organization, placing an emphasis on continuing the development of relationships with the Foundation’s most important assets, its donors and partner agencies.

Prior to joining Community West, Dan held various positions of increasing scope and responsibility for sixteen years in manufacturing, from production lines to managing production flow and materials logistics. Dan holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Akron and a Master of Business Administration with a finance focus from Kent State University Graduate School of Management.

Dan has been married to his wife, Julie, since 1999, and has a daughter, Emma, and son, Michael. The family resides in Sheffield Village, Ohio. Dan enjoys spending time with his family, physical fitness activities, traveling, and Cleveland Guardians baseball.

Maureen Stanton is a Grantmaker at Community West Foundation, where she oversees the stewardship of foundation funds to advance the health and well-being of individuals in the community.

She brings extensive experience from the nonprofit and public sectors, having served as Program Director for the Orange Effect Foundation, Congressional Liaison for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Immigration and Naturalization Service, and Program Associate at the Council on Foundations.

A native Clevelander with deep community ties, Maureen holds a Master of Public Administration in Public Policy from the Cornell Brooks School of Public Policy and a Bachelor’s degree in Government from Cornell University. She is also a Stokes Fellow through the Cleveland Leadership Center’s Advanced Leadership Institute.

Maureen and her husband, Matt, reside in Cleveland’s West Park neighborhood, where they raised their three children. If she isn’t at the office or visiting one of her children at college, you can find Maureen biking in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, enjoying a Lake Erie sunset, or spending time with her large extended family.

Marty Uhle is the President & CEO at Community West Foundation since 2020, after serving on it’s Board for ten years prior to taking this position.

He brings 25 years of work experience from a variety of banking and payments industry senior management roles. Marty prefers to focus more on his last 15 years leading non-profit organizations as the most personally rewarding opportunities in his working career.

Marty is responsible for the areas of focus at Community West: Building the careers of the men & women who work at the Foundation; Supporting Cleveland Clinic Fairview & Lutheran Hospitals; Working with mission aligned individuals including our Foundation Board; Making grants for health & well being in downtown Cleveland, Western Cuyahoga, and Lorain County.

He is a proud graduate of Wittenberg University (Bachelor of Business Administration) and Baldwin Wallace University (Master of Business Administration). Marty also recently became a graduate of Leadership Cleveland Class of 2022.

Outside of work Marty and his wife Laura are proud parents and grand parents who enjoy playing golf, visiting our great lake, and travelling whenever possible. They also attend dozens of annual events in support of the grantee organizations supported by Community West Foundation.

Caroline Woznicki is the Marketing and Events Manager at Community West Foundation. She brings over a decade of experience managing events and marketing campaigns—including her previous work at MetroHealth Hospital.

At Community West Foundation, she oversees a dynamic portfolio of Cleveland Clinic hospital events, fundraising galas, and raffles that inspire generosity and support local programs and patients in need.

A proud Cleveland native, Caroline earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business from Cleveland State University. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring all that Cleveland has to offer and spending time with family and friends.

Lisa Wrobbel is the Senior Accountant at Community West Foundation. She joined the Foundation in 2017 as an accountant and was promoted to Senior Accountant in 2022.
She has 20 years of experience in nonprofit accounting, having previously held accounting roles at CHN Housing Partners and Downtown Cleveland Alliance.

She oversees many aspects of the Foundation’s accounting operations, including financial statement preparation, bank and investment reconciliations, donor advised fund and agency fund reporting, and support for the annual audit and budget processes. As a contributor to the Finance Committee, she prepares pre-meeting financial materials, presents quarterly financial reports, and helps ensure strong financial stewardship for the Foundation’s donors and partner agencies.

She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a specialization in Accounting from American Intercontinental University and is currently pursuing her Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Finance at Ohio University, with an anticipated graduation in August 2026.

She lives in Rocky River with her three daughters. Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, playing games and taking walks with her rescue dog, Molly.
