Community West Foundation and Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital are proud to award a grant of $63,502 to the Fairview Park Fire Department to support the purchase of two new LIFEPAK 35 cardiac monitors and defibrillators. The new equipment will replace the department’s aging LIFEPAK 15 units, ensuring their emergency medical teams remain equipped with cutting-edge technology.
The Fairview Park Fire Department responds to thousands of calls each year, many of which are cardiac-related emergencies. The addition of the new LIFEPAK 35 monitors ensures their frontline teams have the most current technology available to deliver critical care quickly and effectively.
“Upgrading to this advanced equipment allows our paramedics to continue providing high-quality, pre-hospital care to the residents of Fairview Park,” said Fire Chief Tony Raffin. “We’re grateful to Community West Foundation and Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital for recognizing this need and stepping up to make it happen.”
The grant is made possible in part by funds raised through the annual Straight from the Heart raffle, which supports cardiac services and heart-healthy initiatives throughout Cleveland Clinic’s Avon, Fairview, and Lutheran hospitals and their surrounding communities.
“Our ongoing partnership with Fairview Hospital gives us the opportunity to fund community-focused projects like this one,” said Marty Uhle, President and CEO of Community West Foundation. “The Fairview Park Fire Department plays a vital role in the health and safety of the community, and we are honored to support their work.”
“This is another great example of how proceeds from Straight from the Heart directly benefit local organizations with urgent medical needs,” said Neil Smith, D.O., President of Cleveland Clinic West Submarket. “Helping our first responders stay equipped with life-saving tools is a clear investment in the overall well-being of our neighbors.”
