Promoting Early Intervention for Youth and Adolescents

As we have seen from high school tragedies in our area and throughout the country, mental health problems are more prevalent in children and youth than most people realize.

The Suicide Prevention Education Alliance teaches young people to recognize the warning signs of suicide and other mental health problems, and to seek professional help for themselves and others. Their work promotes early intervention for at risk youth and adolescents. This program will be offered in 17 west side high schools during the 2013-2014 school year.
