Helping the Chronically Homeless
The meaning of Metanoia is transformative change of heart. At The Metanoia Project, dedicated volunteers work with the chronically homeless. These are people who, for a variety of reasons, have chosen to live on the street in abandoned buildings, in cars and under bridges.
The Metanoia Project is open November through April at St. Malachi School, from Thursday to Sunday evening to provide shelter, food and other services. Were it not for this program, many of these individuals would be without a place to escape the frigid winter weather. Many nights this past winter, nearly 100 people were provided warmth and meals at St. Malachi’s.
Our $16,000 grant will support The Metanoia Project that continues to see growing numbers.
