Nutritional Support to Survive and Thrive

Nueva Luz Urban Center offers a variety of programs, including a nutritional support program for those in the Latino community who have been diagnosed with the life-threatening illness of HIV/AIDS. Good nutrition is the vital ingredient that is essential to improve and increase the quality of life for those suffering the effects of this disease.

Our grant of $26,000 will allow the Nutrition Program to continue to serve participating clients, most of whom are living at or below the poverty level, for one year. This is our fourth year of supporting this unique program that serves approximately 160 persons with HIV/AIDS through in-home delivery or pick up sites. The food is culturally appropriate and constitutes a complete, nutritious and delicious menu that is delivered by dedicated volunteers.
