Nutritious Meals for Homebound Seniors
Senior citizens living on a fixed income are increasingly at risk of suffering from hunger and malnutrition. They often have to choose between paying for healthcare or prescriptions and buying groceries. Many government-funded services for these seniors, including food programs, have been the victim of budget cuts.
For the third year, Community West provided $38,000 to Neighborhood Alliance for their Home Delivered Meals Program, a lifeline for these homebound clients in Lorain County. Neighborhood Alliance is the only agency providing this service to our senior citizens in Lorain County.
Our funding is a collaborative partnership with the Western Reserve Area Agency on Aging to allow this valuable program to continue its home delivered meals five days a week to over 400 homebound seniors.
