Improving Health and Well-being
We continue to see many people in our community experiencing the turmoil of homelessness, addiction, mental illness, and the lack of a support system. Community West Foundation provided grant funding to important centers in our community dedicated to improving health and well-being.
Our funds helped West Side Catholic Center deliver services for their basic needs program – food, shelter and emergency assistance helping so many to overcome difficulties and hardships.
The May Dugan Center assists clients coping with a host of problems needing attention, including mental illness. May Dugan Center has received accreditation and our grant funding has helped expand their counseling program.
Avon/Avon Lake Community Resource Services helps those in need with food, utility bills, foreclosure prevention, and emergency assistance.
Merrick House Mom’s First Program provides for the health of new moms and their babies, as well cribs, formula and baby items.
St. Malachi Center’s shower program gives homeless men and women access to a hot shower, laundry facility, and other basic essentials.
