Feeding Clevelanders for 34 Years
Community West Foundation feels very strongly about the Cleveland Foodbank's work, and we were very proud to continue partnership for the second year in a row.
With a goal of raising $1 million to serve our community’s most vulnerable residents, the Cleveland Foodbank launched a matching gift campaign in 2012 to assist those at risk of hunger, especially during the challenging summer months when school is out and many children don’t have a dependable source for regular meals. With early support of the challenge with a $100,000 grant from the Community West Foundation, the Foodbank was off and running to a great start towards their goal, the largest undertaking since its founding 34 years ago.
Unfortunately, unemployment and cuts to the food stamp program have resulted in a greater need for food. This year, we provided $125,000 in grant funding to help them achieve their goal of feeding our hungry neighbors.
