Thanks to MetroHealth hospital for caring in a BIG way by donating an ambulance full of socks – 6,000 pairs – to our SocksPLUS campaign!

Akram Boutros, President and CEO of MetroHealth, spoke about how happy they were to be involved in collecting these socks for the homeless, and thanked those from Metro and DrugMart, who both coordinated and donated the socks.

Our SocksPLUS program came about as a result of our CEO David Dombrowiak going into the trenches with outreach workers to meet the homeless and learn more about their needs.

David learned that socks were the most needed item, and Community West Foundation began coordinating with the Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless (NEOCH) to collect them.

To date, we have received $200,000 in socks, other items and cash contributions!
