Linda Gross Brown
2010’s Art of Caring Award recipient, Linda Gross Brown, certainly demonstrates a commitment to charitable work through many years of sharing her time, talent and treasure.
Fairview Hospital has been nourished by Linda’s volunteer efforts and philanthropic generosity. Guided by an enduring interest in the welfare of children, Linda served on the legendary Fairview Hospital Junior Board, championing numerous fundraising events, including the memorable Merrie Olde Christmas Shoppe. Her deep devotion and support of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is in honor and loving memory of her late mother, Annette Gross, who was a preemie and weighed 2 lbs. and Annette’s twin sister, Adele who weighed 1.8 lbs. It was truly a miracle that they did survive without the highly specialized services of a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Linda has made her mark through her valued volunteer service on the Fairview/Lutheran Foundation Board and Community West Foundation Board. By establishing a Donor Advised Fund, The Brown Family Fund at the Community West Foundation, Linda has shown yet another way she provides a helping hand to the community, contributing a substantial amount to St. Martin de Porres High School, and the NICU Unit at Fairview Hospital. We were honored to present Linda Gross Brown with the 2010 Art of Caring Award.
