Applying For a Grant

You will be asked to provide detailed information about how an identified community need will be met through the program for which funding is requested. If approved, you will be notified and asked to submit a full grant application.

Due to significant shifts in the funding and policy landscape, Community West Foundation has made the difficult but necessary decision to transition to an invitation-only application process. This change allows us to honor our commitments to existing grantee partners and maintain integrity to our funding priorities during a time of rapidly changing community needs.

Existing grantees are eligible to apply in their applicable focus quarter.

If you believe your organization aligns closely with our mission, funding focus, and operates within Western Cuyahoga and/or Lorain County, we welcome you to introduce yourself. Please send a brief email to Grants.Portal@cwfc.org that includes:

  • A short description of your work and the specific population(s) you serve
  • How your work aligns with the Community West Foundation priority to serve the marginalized

While we are unable to guarantee an invitation to apply, we are grateful for your work in the community and appreciate your interest in partnering with us.

Grant Funding to Nonprofit Agencies

  • Grant applications will be accepted only from organizations that are qualified as tax-exempt and charitable entities under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
  • Your work in the community must fall into one or more of the categories listed above.
  • Funding is limited to organizations located in Western Cuyahoga and Lorain Counties.
  • We do not fund capital needs, endowments, school programs, or individuals
