Nueva Luz Urban Resource Center
Offering a Lifeline of Hope with Nutrition Program
Nueva Luz Urban Resource Center is a faith-based, Latino-focused agency serving our west side community through its mission of “challenging the root causes of systemic poverty through holistic and culturally competent service and community building.”
Good nutrition is one of the most powerful weapons available for fighting the effects of HIV/AIDS. Nueva Luz’ cornerstone Nutrition Program serves approximately 106 persons diagnosed with this disease through in-home delivery or on-site pick up.
The food is culturally appropriate and constitutes a complete, nutritious menu. The Community West Foundation’s grant of $24,000 will continue to feed participants for one year, most of whom are living at or below the poverty level.
