Ministry to the Homeless
Joseph's Home is the only agency in our area, and one of two in all of Ohio, that provides both a place to live and comprehensive medical care for homeless men in need of a place to recover from illness or injury, many of whom have been discharged from hospitals and other emergency shelters.
The respite stay at Joseph’s Home can last anywhere from 5 to 24 months to allow for the rest and care needed to make a full recovery. Last year, the facility served nearly 40 men. Once the men have recovered from their illness, the agency also them find longer-term housing.
In order to continue operating and receiving HUD funding assistance, Joseph’s Home is committed to raising $78,000 locally, and we were able to provide $25,000 in grant funding.
Men coming to Joseph’s Home find that it is filled with compassion, respect and assurance that someone cares. We feel the same way, and this is why we funded the program for the sixth year in a row.
