The mission of the Community West Foundation is to advance the health and well being of our community. The Community West Foundation plays a vital role in health and wellness solutions raising, managing and distributing funds for a wide range of programs throughout the western Greater Cleveland community, and forFairview Hospital and Lutheran Hospital.

Our Philanthropic Services provide flexibility by allowing donors to develop a philanthropic plan that best reaches their charitable goals. Services include:

• Planned giving consultation
• Consultation with professional advisors
• Ability to accept a variety of gift options (cash, stock, real estate, insurance, mutual funds)
• Donor advised funds (record-keeping, check administration and issuance, personalized grant letters and IRS reporting)
• Guidance and advice, if you like, to achieve your desired goal.
• Coordination with your professional advisor (Attorney, CPA, Asset Manager, etc.)
• The flexibility to accept a variety of different gift types, such as:
  • Cash, publicly traded securities, closely-held stock, real estate, and life insurance.
• Stewardship of your legacy after your lifetime.
• Planned gift consultation & services.
• Donor Advised Fund Services, including:
  • One-on-one sessions to help create a customized charitable giving strategy or simply refine your giving approach for maximum impact.
  • Ongoing research and updates on community needs and charitable giving opportunities.
  • Ability to give anonymously.
  • Comprehensive recordkeeping. We will provide (1) confirmation of all gifts received and grants made from your fund; (2) activity statements listing gifts, grants, and dollars available for grantmaking, (3) grantmaking and evaluation services, including due diligence on all grants that are made from your fund and (4) invitations to educational seminars and events.
• Administrative services including:
  • IRS reporting (you don't have to file a separate tax return for your fund)
  • Personalized gift acknowledgement letters for tax purposes
  • Check administration and issuance
  • Personalized grant letters

The Community West Foundation recognizes how important it is now, especially during these tough times, to play a critical role in the future of our communities and to provide a helping hand where we can.

You can help, too. A Donor Advised Fund is a great way to support your favorite charities. Community West Foundation makes the process easy for donors while allowing gifts to have a greater impact on the community.

A Donor Advised Fund can be created from a gift of cash, stocks, bonds, life insurance, real estate, or other assets. You can make gifts to the projects or organizations of your choice through your Donor Advised Fund. Engage your entire family in recommending uses of the fund to make a difference in the community you love. Community West Foundation provides fund management and administrative support to make the grant making process easy, taking care of the accounting, auditing, IRS reporting, and fiscal management.
